Today, the children worked on the Compliment Tree project. They learn what compliments signifies – to express a praise or courteous greetings to their friends, eg, ‘thank you for sharing with me’. They are asked to express how they feel when their friends or teachers compliment them. The children are taught that ‘compliments’ make people feel good. It shows that you’ve noticed something positive about another person or something special he or she has done. It encourages a child to do something that may be difficult for him or her to do, eg. saying ‘sorry’.
